Our investors include experienced entrepreneurs, angel and venture investors, CEOs of major companies, governmental board members, professional consultants, and senior executives who believe in investing for social impact in our local and global communities.
This knowledgeable group will help lead the selection of entities to receive funding. They bring the required professional level of due diligence experience to the endeavor, evaluating the product and service concepts as well as the founders’ vison and commitment to execution.

With a background in healthcare and technology, Paul is a retired Senior Partner from Deloitte Consulting, an Impact Engine Founding Investor, a General Partner with LeFort Investors, and has served on the boards of for-profit enterprises as well as local and international nonprofits.
Tom has served as a Senior Executive with Simmons Company and Executive Vice President at Restonic Corporation, founded his own marketing business, served on a number of boards with an emphasis on workforce development, and founded the nonprofit Career Connect.
Tony has been an entrepreneur for 20 years, has never earned more than $35k from any regular job but has funded the startup of two used cooking oil recyclers, multiple home remodelers, an irrigation company, a fund to transition land to organic certification, hotels, an organic farm incubator, a photographer, a non-GMO seed company, as well as many micro loans. He has always focused on the return of capital while helping others rather than the potential upside of pure start-up equity.
Prashant has worked for 30+ years at Nokia with experience in software development, management, architecture, business development and CTO. He owns and manages a variety of retail businesses, is a commercial and residential real estate broker, and serves as a board member with the People’s Resource Center and India Development Services.
Marc J. Lane
Marc is a nationally recognized business and tax attorney and the author of 35 books, a Master Registered Financial Planner, Registered Financial Counselor, Certified investment Specialist and the President of his Law Offices and Wealth group. He is an expert on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial finance and an innovator in helping social impact stakeholders leverage capital to maximize financial results while driving positive social change.
Jeff has been a professor at Benedictine University’s Goodwin College of Business since 1971, where he has utilized both his M.B.A and C.P.A. qualifications to teach accounting, statistics, finance and other business-related courses.
With a background in finance and technology, Phil is a CFA charter holder who owns and manages a proprietary trading firm and has been working for small businesses during his entire 17-year career.
Amit, previously a professor and chair of the Computer Science department at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, started a company in 1991 concentrating on e-commerce software until his successful exit in 2015.
Mike is the former CEO and Chairman of Peacock Engineering. He grew Peacock from $10M to over $400M while building several new manufacturing sites. During that time, Mike sold his operation to private equity interests and became an expert in the food packaging space while being recognized for his lifelong efforts on behalf of the less fortunate.
President and majority owner of the midsize Chicago-based engineering consulting firm Rubinos & Mesia Engineers, Inc., Dipak has 30+ years of experience in the engineering consulting field.
Joe is a senior executive and Vice President at Praxair with significant experience in operations and management. He also serves on the board of the People’s Resource Center, which provides social services to over 30,000 lower income DuPage residents.
