Social Innovations Journal: Chicago: The Homegrown Impact Investing Hub

DuPage Impact is modeled after the highly successful social impact technology business incubator Impact Engine, established in Chicago in 2012.

Paul LeFort, a retired consulting partner with Deloitte, was a founding investor in Impact Engine, and together with Tom Wendorf created DuPage Impact. The model and process being brought to DuPage County and the western suburbs has been built on the experience of Impact Engine, which has generously provided consulting and process guidance. We believe that this will increase the likelihood of a successful effort in DuPage and the surrounding region.

This article from Social Innovations Journal describes the history of the Impact Engine effort. It is written by the people who were there at the founding and help run their effort today.
